Dear Kürşat,

(Reply To https://conferencealertsintraders.com/ot/to-my-bro/ ) First of all, I want to congratulate you on your new achievements! You’ve done a great job organizing the InTraders Conference and promoting international academic manifestations! I know you’ll keep it up and I hope your efforts will be properly appreciated.

Childhood Dreams

I would figure out that your childhood dreams were venturesome because you’re a very courageous man (You’re an “aslan”! – lion, for those who have no knowledge of Turkish). And I think that’s why you love traveling. I’ve never been so overdaring, I’ve dreamt to become a teacher since grade 5 because I admired (and I still do) my History and Biology teachers. In those days I dreamt to be a History teacher, but I’ve changed my mind after graduating high school and I’ve chosen the Faculty of Letters… I’ve always been a dreamer and the spiritual culture (especially Literature and Music) was my cup of tea. By the way, I meant to ask you why the young people of Turkey don’t fancy traditional Turkish music? This was my impression after discussing with some young Turks about their traditional songs.

I agree that work is crucial for humans, and we must combine physical and intellectual work in order to keep our mind and body in good health, the goal of ancient Romans: Mens sana in corpore sano! (“A healthy mind in a healthy body!”). Romanians have a saying about work and doing things at the proper time: Nu lăsa pe mâine ce poți face azi! (Don’t postpone for tomorrow what you can do today!). The Bible also says: “If you don’t work, you don’t eat”! But rest has its own importance, so a middle-way approach is the best.

Regarding sweets, I think I have a sweet tooth, but I must avoid them to stay fit. I love traditional sweets because their sweetness is not so overpowering. But after tasting Trileçe in our friends’ restaurant, in Istanbul, I fell in love with that cake. Ohhh, you made me curious about that sweet you mentioned. By the way, what’s your favorite cake, bro? Or what is the cake you often use to make at home?

I can’t wait to see you and your two little “aslanlar” again!

My best regards to all of you in Turkey!
