Whether you haven’t accomplished a task in due time, you have procrastinated and disappointed others and yourself, whether you failed an exam or were rejected at a new job, by people or disappointed and hurt, these are failures that can burden you and stop you from growing.
The answer to this question might give you the lead to success because confronting your weaknesses strengthens you in the end.
When is it time to give up?
When dealing with goals you find impossible at the moment, have in mind that the one who has discovered his meaning in life is able to get through and do almost anything.
During your research work, in times of biases, errors, absurd hypotheses, in times of existential frustrations, panic and dissatisfactions, in times of loneliness, isolation and social distance, find your true meaning.

“Don’t aim at success. The more you aim at it and make it a target, the more you are going to miss it. For success, like happiness, cannot be pursued; it must ensue, and it only does so as the unintended side effect of one’s personal dedication to a cause greater than oneself or as the by-product of one’s surrender to a person other than oneself. Happiness must happen, and the same holds for success: you have to let it happen by not caring about it. I want you to listen to what your conscience commands you to do and go on to carry it out to the best of your knowledge. Then you will live to see that in the long-run—in the long-run, I say!—success will follow you precisely because you had forgotten to think about it”. (Viktor Frankl in Man’s search for meaning)
It is all about perception and we cannot imagine how great the influence of perception is on our attitude and behaviour. Even though it is harder to change an old belief rather than create a new one, we need to approach things in our favour. So… choose the way you face failure!
